This fable also appears in Jewish folklore- later (1852) the English poet Edward Fitzgerald 'borrowed' this story in his poem, titled 'Solomon's Seal' -Abraham Lincoln also borrowed the phrase in his 1859 address. ‘…and all will (shall) be well…’ are words from Julian Of Norwich’s ‘Revelations of Divine Love’, the document she wrote of her visions (which she called shewings) This too will pass, and all will be well’ brings together different faiths, offering hope in these troubled times. This saying was passed to me by my mother (and her mother before her). I don’t know whether they understood its full origins, (Persian Sufi, Jewish, Christian).
